President Gives Thumbs Down To House HEA Bill

Abstract:

In a Statement of Administrative Policy released yesterday, President Bush signaled a possible veto on the House HEA bill if it reaches his desk in its current form. The College Opportunity and Affordability Act of 2007 (H.R. 4137) would reauthorize the Higher Education Act, including several Title IV provisions. The bill is scheduled to come to a full House vote today.
