Multimedia: College Loans (Gannett News Service)

August 22nd, 2007 by Justin

Abstract:

“Borrowers have every right to choose the lender or loan product that best meets their needs and schools will unequivocally honor that right and their job is to make sure that students have the information necessary to make the right decision,” says NASFAA Assistant Director for Communications Justin Draeger in an interview with Gannett News Service. Assistant Secretary for Education Diane Jones and recent graduate Carmen Berkley also took part in the interview. “Students and parents shouldn’t expect financial aid administrators to make decisions for them about their financial aid package. Financial aid administrators help them along the process and give them options about how to defray the costs of college a college education. It’s up to students and parents to be informed consumers to take control over their own financial aid and to make decisions based on the information that financial aid administrators are providing them.”
